SUPPORT FOR TELEGRAM AND MINECRAFT ADDED TO WORLDCOIN IDENTIFICATION SYSTEM

The Worldcoin identification system, created by the founder of ChatGPT, now supports Telegram and Minecraft. The system update includes integration with major technological services and a new multi-level verification system.

Worldcoin, a cryptocurrency project co-founded by Sam Altman, the CEO behind the creation of the ChatGPT chatbot at OpenAI, has announced an expansion of its biometric identification system, as reported by TechCrunch. The update involves integration with major technological services and a new multi-level verification system for the 'digital passport' known as World ID.

Developers at Worldcoin have made the new version of World ID compatible with popular platforms such as the Minecraft game, the social forum Reddit, the Telegram messenger, the internet shopping engine Shopify, and the Mercado Libre platform. The project had previously integrated with Discord Messenger and other services.

According to a company representative, the World ID 2.0 identification system, publicly launched four months ago, streamlines the process for developers to distinguish real users from bots. The concept of the Worldcoin project revolves around the idea that as artificial intelligence becomes more prevalent in everyday life, it will become increasingly difficult to differentiate between humans and robots. Hence, the developers have created a way to 'prove personhood,' referred to as proof of personhood, in Worldcoin.

Operators at Worldcoin scan people's irises using the Orb device—a reflective metal sphere that records information about the iris in the form of cryptographic code. Those who undergo scanning receive WLD tokens, which are already traded on major cryptocurrency exchanges.

The project now introduces three levels of authentication: the 'ordinary' level, using only the application and profile; the 'standard' level, including iris scanning using Orb; and the 'high' security level, adding face recognition.

The WLD token responded to the news with a growth of over 8%, but its price quickly corrected. As of 18:00 MSK, the coin is trading at $2.46 with a market capitalization of over $304 million, according to CoinGecko.

In addition to technological integrations, Worldcoin is actively expanding its physical presence, launching onboarding operations in Mexico and Singapore, with plans for further expansion into Asia. The company, however, does not operate in the USA, and regulators in France, Argentina, and Germany are scrutinizing the project for legal compliance. In Kenya, the project has been banned legislatively, and authorities conducted searches in the offices of local operators."
